NDS showing off their next generation user interface - the Master User Interface at NCTA this year. The engineer, Dan DeHaan, in the video claims the interface "utilises Open OCAP and Java" but he seems terribly uncertain about this. Toward the end he claims NDS "...believe could be implemented on top of Tru2Way".
The UI has all the key elements including web access, and DLNA type functions.
The interface is slick graphically and has some nice animations but, curiously, seems to rely heavily on text and, worse, uses huge amounts of it at times. The text is concentrated in portions of the screen which Dan points out leaves lots of space for advertising and branding but conversely means the text for the main user interface is even smaller.
Its a mixed bag.
